Class: Handbuilding with clay: Simple to Outstanding

Handbuilding is an ancient pottery-making technique that involves creating forms without a pottery wheel, using the hands, fingers, and simple tools. Handbuilding techniques allow for a wide range of creativity which allows us to create simple cups, bowls, and sculptures and imbue them with interesting textures, found and created. This class with concentrate on building several useful and sculptural forms and conclude with 2 weeks of slip and glaze decoration.

This class meets in the ceramics studio of the Art Association, located on the first floor of the Center for the Arts.

Your class fee provides one bag of clay, firing, glazing and open studio for the duration of the class. Additional clay $15 to $20 per bag. Max: 8 students
